How to get ready for a maternity photo-shoot

A maternity photo-shoot is the best way to celebrate and capture your beautiful baby bump. A wide variety of dresses and fabrics is available in the studio for you to choose from. Depending on what you choose to wear, you will need black, white and skin colour simple bras and underwear. Feel free to bring white/black bodies if you have them at home or any special dress you really like.

Most husbands/partners participate in the maternity photo-shoots, as well as one or more older siblings, which means you will have to prepare 1-2 outfits for each family member. I highly recommend you go for simple denim jeans or chino trousers (cream, beige, grey, navy, khaki, brown) and plain shirts (white, grey, cream, beige, navy, brown) for dads/sons and simple dresses in solid/pale / pastel colours for daughters, ideally matching the colours of your chosen dresses.

A simple, light, natural-looking day make-up is preferred for a maternity photo-shoot, as well as freshly-cut and well-groomed nails for everyone who’s taking part in the photo session. If you do your nails, I highly recommend nude paint for both hands and toes. Hands are often used in maternity sessions to draw attention to the belly, while barefoot subjects look best against the plain photography backdrops that are typically used for maternity photo shoots. Your hair should be fixed so that you are comfortable wearing it during the photo-shoot; some big, loose curls in your hair would look very pretty and would complement the elegant dresses and your grace while wearing them.
