PUNCTUALITY

The Christmas Mini Sessions will run every 30 minutes. Punctuality is crucial, so please factor in extra time for your journey, taking into account potential traffic delays. It's recommended to add at least 20-30 minutes to your estimated arrival time (or more, depending on your location). In case you are 10 minutes late, your session will be shortened by 10 minutes.

I strongly recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to make the most of your session and avoid any last-minute rush. You'll be kindly asked to wait in your car until it's time for your shoot. This helps us maintain a safe environment, gives me enough time to get ready for your session, and ensures the studio is clean and ready for you to enjoy your experience.

CLOTHING - maximum 2 per person.

I advise opting for an outfit that suits both set-ups, and then enhancing it with accessories like a scarf, hat, or coat for the second setup. Creating the appearance of being in a snowy environment is essential for the “outdoor” shots, and spending less time changing outfits allows us more time to capture beautiful images.

INDOOR OUTFIT (plum & gold setup)

What are the best colours?

Choose one main colour for your look. Plum, dusty pink, or emerald. Then pair it with dark greys and navy as foundations. Add cool white only as a light accent. This keeps the set calm and elegant.

Easy proportions

Think in simple ratios so outfits feel balanced in photos.

  • Foundation 60%. Navy or dark grey for trousers, suits, cardigans, and simple dresses.

  • Main colour 30%. Plum, dusty pink, or emerald. One strong piece only.

  • Accent 10%. A hint of cool white, brushed gold jewellery, a ribbon, a tie, a hair bow.

If your group is larger, keep only one person in the main colour. Everyone else stays in navy and grey, with minimal touches that echo the main tone.

If you choose Plum as the hero

Rich and timeless. Works beautifully with candlelight.

Women

  • Plum velvet or crepe dress, navy or charcoal cardigan, dark shoe, brushed gold earrings.

  • Navy trousers, cool white blouse, plum scarf or headband.

Men

  • Navy jumper, charcoal trousers, plum tie or pocket square.

  • Charcoal suit, cool white shirt, small plum accent only.

Girls

  • Dusty plum dress or cardigan, grey tights, black or dark brown shoe.

  • Navy dress with a small plum bow.

Boys

  • Navy knit, grey chinos, tiny plum bow tie if you like, dark shoe.

  • Grey jumper, white shirt collar, plum braces or socks.

Keep in mind
Matte fabrics read best. Avoid bright burgundy and heavy shine.

If you choose Dusty Pink as the hero

Soft, modern, very flattering on skin.

Women

  • Dusty pink dress with a navy cardigan, dark shoe, delicate gold stud.

  • Pink blouse, charcoal trousers, navy belt, tiny plum hair clip if you want a thread to the set.

Men

  • Navy blazer or knit, cool white shirt, charcoal trousers. A small pink pocket square is enough.

  • Charcoal knit, navy chinos, no extra pink if your partner wears the hero piece.

Girls

  • Blush dress, grey tights, navy cardigan.

  • Grey pinafore, blush bow or headband.

Boys

  • Navy jumper, white tee collar, grey trousers, blush bow only if it suits his style.

  • Charcoal cardigan, navy chinos, soft pink socks for a hidden wink.

Keep in mind
Choose cool pink, not peach. Keep the rest of the outfit simple so the pink feels elegant.

If you choose Emerald or Forest Green as the hero

Fresh and festive, with clear contrast in the scene.

Women

  • Emerald dress in velvet or crepe, charcoal wrap, dark shoe.

  • Navy trousers, cool white blouse, emerald earrings or a slim scarf.

Men

  • Navy sweater, charcoal trousers, emerald pocket square or tie.

  • Charcoal suit, white shirt, one small green detail only.

Girls

  • Forest green dress, grey tights, navy cardigan.

  • Navy dress, emerald bow.

Boys

  • Charcoal jumper, navy chinos, green bow tie or beanie if casual suits the child.

  • Navy knit, grey trousers, tiny green socks.

Keep in mind
Aim for true emerald or deep forest. Avoid neon green and bright kelly.

Foundations that always work

  • Navy and charcoal are your safest base.

  • Cool white is welcome in small areas. Collars, shirts, tees under knits.

  • Shoes in espresso, dark chocolate, or oxblood.

  • Tights in sheer black or plum.

  • Jewellery in brushed gold or pearl. Small and refined.

Textures that photograph beautifully

Velvet, wool, cashmere, brushed cotton, chiffon, matte silk. Keep shine gentle so the candles create the glow.

Simple do and don’t

  • Do keep logos and busy prints out of frame.

  • Do coordinate, avoid perfect matching.

  • Do think about comfort, especially for kids.

  • Don’t bring bright red, neon colours, or creamy ivory that leans yellow.

Quick family recipes

  • Plum theme. Mum in plum dress, Dad in navy and grey, child in cool white with a plum bow.

  • Dusty pink theme. Mum in dusty pink blouse, Dad in charcoal and navy, child in slate or soft sage.

  • Emerald theme. One person in emerald, everyone else in navy and grey, one tiny green accent on a child.

If you prefer another naming style, say the word and I will swap the headings in the same structure.

A tip for clients who do not wish to commit on purchasing new items: you can order online from stores like Next, Zara, H&M, ASOS, Shein, or Temu - just remember to keep the tags on, wear the clothes only for the photoshoot, and then easily return them to the store.

It's crucial that you arrive dressed for the first set-up as we will always start the photoshoot in the indoor set (the one with the armchair and Christmas tree). This helps us save time for the shoot.

SHOES

All customers will be asked to take their shoes off as soon as they walk in my home studio. Simple, plain, long black socks or colourful ones with a bit of texture are fine. Please avoid short and white socks (with the exception of white trousers).

Shoes are highly recommended for the outdoor set-up to evoke the idea of being outside - please make sure to bring them separately after thoroughly cleaning their soles with water and soap. Please refrain from merely wiping them, as it is not efficient. Your consideration and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

DURING THE SHOOT

Depending on your children’s age, I will be needing some help from the parents in order to draw their attention to the camera and engage them better. This could involve singing nursery rhymes, clapping, dancing, engaging in conversation, and more.

CHILDREN

Prior to the photo session, please ensure that all children have clean hands and hair, trimmed nails, are well-fed, and well-rested. Please note that food is not permitted in the studio, except for formula.

If you'd like a second opinion on the clothing or items you're considering for the photo shoot, feel free to send me pictures or links.

You will receive a reminder about your booking 1-2 days before the scheduled shoot.

Looking forward to meeting you and your loved ones!
